刚才早上11:00am过去NORFOLK PARK看这个一年一度的SHEFFIELD FAYRE. 本来以为要钱的,却原来是免费的.哈哈

 

这是SHEFFIELD 非常重要的家庭日娱乐之一哦.主要是看花,历史战争扮演(类似COSPLAY)和FUN FAIR.

 

其他也没有什么好介绍了.大家可以看片断和照片.

 

This morning 11:00am just visited the Sheffield Fayre at Norflk Park. This is an important Family Event in Sheffield.

 突然间....有一个感觉...很想家.....很想回去看看家里的人,看看熟悉的环境,感受家的温暖.

 

一个人在外独自生活,很容易累.想找个人来倾诉都好像很难. 也许我太孤立自己了,太不相信其他人了.又有谁,可以让我相信???

 

很多时候,都在告诉自己:"千万不可以就这样倒下,就算是落后,也要把剩下的路程走完".

 

心里扛着很重的石头,我想放下,可是却很清楚知道,这是不可能的. 现在能做的,就是把伤害减到最低.

 

要在恶劣的环境下,要在只有靠自己力量,继续把这块石头扛在心里,继续走向路程的尽头. 虽然,这条路没有尽头,没有回头路.

 

PS: 这块石头,是什么? 就是我的坚持,我的原则. 放掉这石头,那么我的人生就没有了方向.难道要永远活在没有自己的世界里吗????

这到底是怎样的石头,怎么那么硬,那么重?? 背负这样的石头到底有什么好处??? 真的没有好处吧...可是这是我的石头...没有它,就没有我...

现在是凌晨3点,昨天下午晒到太热了,现在整个人都觉得热热....

现在说说我们的征服英格兰第8高峰的行程...

如果不是有CLASSMATE说要来PEAK DISTRICT的话,我也应该没什么机会安排这次的旅程.(这是LAST MINUTE决定的)

KINDER SCOUT(636meter 高), 如果从谢菲尔德来的话必须搭乘火车,大概是40分钟的时间就能到达EDALE (详细时间表可以到http://www.nationalrail.co.uk).当天的来回车资是5.80 POUNDS.

我们乘搭早上9:14分的火车,到达时是9:50分.

由于我们来的时候没有详细的地图,所以到达EDALE之后必须到MOORLAND CENTER找地图.在那边有卖很详细的地图,当然我们只是在那边索取免费的(EXPLORE the High Peak Estate).我把我的地图放在这个网址http://www.geocities.com/cheaplamb/kcmap.jpg.以供有兴趣的读者参考.

其实我们一开始可能就跟错方向了,我们原以为是走向UPPER BOOTH的.可是在中段的时候看到有其他人走向小溪.

顺着走的话,我们回来到一条小溪,之后在跟这小溪往上走会看到一个大石堆,那一带就是最高峰区了.

(12:00PM)上面是没有任何路标说哪一边才是最高的,所以我们在上面也是问其他的爬山者,之后在看到觉得哪里高就过去拍下照片了(应该是叫WOOL PACKS).在这里我们享用了我们的午餐.

总之是有些乱乱来啦...之后的目标是KINDER DOWNFALL (KINDER SCOUT的最高的瀑布).这时候我们只是以指南针来带领我们,因为我们的"以为"和"不认为"那些是路会带我们去别的方向,所以我们决定闯MOOR(这里指的是软泥地或沼泽).在比较高的地方,我们决定了直线对着一个大石头走(因为我们发现迷路了..哈哈~!).

总算看到了很多的鞋印,给了我们很大的希望...看到人了..YEAH~.问下他KINDER DOWNFALL如何去,他说只要我们跟着大石头的路走20分钟就能到了.

依着他的指示,我们看到了一堆石头,上面有一只KARRIMOR的登山鞋.

(2:30PM)到了..我们看到了KINDER DOWNFALL..我们的汗水总算没白流.由于是夏天,再加上最近都没有下雨,所以瀑布没有水.....没关系,也是很壮观的...从这边可以看到KINDER RESERVOIR.

我们再一次的以为我们是用另一条路上来的.好采我的CLASSMATE有去问其他的人,不然就是去荷兰了(虽然荷兰离英格兰很近,可是用走的话..呵呵)

这次我们才确定我们刚才是怎样来的.现在我们以KINDER LOW的路线去..

(3.10PM)走到了一个地方,看到一个白色的路标,不知道是什么来的(刚才去开之前收集的资料网站,才知道是KINDER LOW的指标).就在这个时候看到了两条路.这时候只有再靠指南针来决定了,而且旁边有石堆,应该就是EDALE ROCKS.好采选对路了....哈

下山的路上,看到一个男的,背一个女的下山..突然想,如果是我的话,我会那么做吗??我想我会的....如果是我女朋友的话...想到哪里去了..哈

(3.55PM)到了JACOB'S LADDER的始端了...总算到了比较平坦的地段了....(5:05PM)就这样,我们回到了火车站(很奇怪,我们在中途有走错路了,绕去马路走了一大圈).

(6:00PM)我们回到了谢菲尔德火车站...万岁~!!

 

Now is 3:00am, yesterday under the sun too long time, now feel very hot...
Start to share our journey to Kinder Scout.
If not my classmater request a trip to Peak District, I believe i will not have chance to arrange this trip. (This is last minute decision)
Kinder Scout (636meter height). From Sheffield to Edale is about 40 minutes (For time table please refer to http://www.nationalrail.co.uk). Our train fee is 5.80 pounds for return trip.
Our train schedule is 9:14PM. When we arrived Edale is about 9:50AM
Due to we don't have the detail map, we need go to MOORLAND INFORMATIOn CENTER to get the map. Here sell alot of detail map. Of course we only take the free map (EXPLORE the High Peak Esate). Actually we are in wrong direction at the begining state. We though we were direct to Upper Booth, but at the middle way, we saw someone used another footpath to a small stream and we followed them.
By follow the small stream, we saw a big rock at the high peak. There should be the highest peak region.
(12:00PM) At there is no indication mark to show which is the highest point. Just asking other traveller and compare which point is the highest. We took alot of photo there and having our lunch (Here should be called Wool Packs)
In fact we are quite recklessly....after that our target is Kinder Downfall (The highest waterfall in Kinder Scout). We only depend our compass to decide our way. Now we decide just to barge in Moor(Here mean wetland). From the higher position, we direct to a big rock by linear (Because we found we "LOST"...hahaha~!)
Luckly, we saw alot of footprint here, our hope is lighten...Oh...is that another traveller from opposite direction?? YEAH~ we asked him where is the Kinder Downfall. He showed us to follow the Big Rock then after about 20 minutes we can get our place.
According his instruction, we saw road sign built by a pile of stone. And at the top of stone is "Karrimor" boot.
(2:30PM) We saw Kinder Downfall...We not wasted our sweat..DUe to now is summer and recently not raining, the waterfall is ~~not WATER!!!...nevermind..the scenery here is still superb...from here we can see Kinder Reservoir.
We still believed we are using another way (From Low Peak, actually not). Luckly we asked other traveller, otherwise we now should be in Holand (Although Holand is near to England, but if we use walking...hehehe)
Now only we realize how we get here just now...now we follow the way to Low Peak.
(3:10PM) We saw a white road sign, and don't know what is that (Only just now i go through my previous collection date only know that is KInder Low Sign). Now is a junction. We have to use compass to check which is the correct way to return. Because beside that is a pile of Big Rock, it should be "Edale Rocks". Lucky we choose a correct way...Hahaha(Holand Theory again)
On the way back, I saw a guy carried a girl on his back...I feel that I will do tat or not?? I believe I will..if the girl is my girl friend...haha..where i thinking to..?
(3.55PM) We were in the begining of the Jacob's Ladder...here is flatten land, will be more easier to walk...(5:05PM)We arrived Train Staion, YABEE~!(But in between we still lost, make a big turn to return here..strange~)
(6:00PM) We now in Sheffield Train Station~~~YOSH~!!!

 

原本想在第二天就UPDATE的,结果越拖越迟..哈哈,真是对不起咯.

 

这一天的行程是到WHITBY(中文译名,惠特比镇),曾经是一个繁忙的港口.著名小说"吸血鬼德古拉伯爵"就是作者BRAM STOKER在这边产生灵感的.

从SHEFFIELD来到WHITBY大约是两个小时半的车程(在路上居然还塞车,天啊~结果用了3小时才到).

才从巴士下来,就听到了海鸥的悦耳叫声(在马来西亚海边好像还什么没听过).

第一目的地就是这边著名的"199步,199 STEPS"了.听说有199个梯级,不过我没算.可能就这么失去许愿的机会了(自己异想天开,不要理我...哈!)

在这199步的上面就圣马利教堂(ST.MARY's CHURCH).这边就是德古拉伯爵的发源地啦.很多的古老墓碑,如果这里不是旅游点的话,应该会很阴森恐怖.很多人在这边野餐哦~!

圣马利教堂坐落在悬崖旁边,所以从这边望下去就是大海了.蛮不错的景色.再过一点就是WHITBY ABBEY(惠特比修道院)进去是要钱的,好像是3.50英镑(我没有进去只是在周围绕).旁边是农场,有马和牛...很爽下,在悬崖上的农场哩...

现在呢,就走到199步的开始处,有条小路可以到港口东边的灯塔.这条小路旁,有一间店传说中吉普塞人的看相馆(没有拍到).由于是退潮,所以可以走到一条不长不短的海中小道(果然很多奇景).前面刚好是一对情侣,手牵手(突然觉得自己很孤单~麻辣佬的命运)

肚子在叫了,是时候去吃这边著名的FISH & CHIP了.看到了QUAYSIDE(店门放着,2005年最好的鱼制食品优胜)试了下,原来不过如此.再走多一会,看到了MAGPIE CAFE,才想到好像有人说这间才是好料...太迟了,我已经吃饱了....

现在总算有力气了,到库克船长纪念碑(CAPTAIN COOK)那边.在旁边是一对鲸鱼下颌骨,代表这里曾经是很多捕鲸人的著名港口.

再过一点就是沙滩了,很多人呢...可惜不是很美(还是喜欢热浪岛的)

时间差不多了....要跟WHITBY说BYE BYE了....

 

As planned I should update this in next day, but delayed quite a time...haha..sorry about that.

Today trip is to Whitby, it was a busy harbour. The famous novel about "Darcula" was written by Bram Stoker. He got the idea at here.
From Sheffield come to Whitby is aboit 2 1/2 hr by bus. (We in traffic jam as well, total spent 3 hrs to arrive here)
Sea gull's euphonious sound was around us when we arrived (in Malaysia seaside we seldom to hear it)
My first destination is "199 steps". It has 199 steps that the name come from. I didn't count the step, maybe counting can have chance to make a wish?? (I in wild flights of fancy...Please don't bother me..haha~!)

After 199 Steps we reached St Mary's Church. Here is the place Darcula Legend come from. A lot of ancient tombstone, if here is not a travel hot point, should be very scary. Wow~ A lot of people pinic here as well~!
St. Mary's Church is located just beside a cliff, a hanging over clif. From here have a nice sea view. The famous Whitby Abbey is just beside St. Mary Church. The entry fee is about 3.5 pounds (I only walk around it). Beside the Abbey is farm. Got horses and cows...wow, I really like this..
At the begining point of 199 Step got a path can bring us to east of harbour tower. Along this path got one Gypsy Fortune Shope. (I didn't take photo for that). Because of the low tide, a small & short path can take us to close of sea. In front of me is a couple, holding their hand together (Suddenly feel lonely~ the fate of bachelor)
My stomach is making noise, is the time to have a famous lunch here~ the FISH & CHIP. Saw a shop call QUAYSIDE and this shop have a label of "The UK No.1 Young Fish Frier of The Year 2004- o5". Felt been cheated, no really delicious. Suddenly recalled that someone said the best should be "Magpie Cafe"...too late...I cant take it anymore...
Now my power is restored. Now have a visit to Captain Cook. Beside of him is the Whale Bone Arch, it represent here was whale capturer harbour.
Another view point is the beach, alot of people but no pretty as well as Redang Island.
Time's out....Have to say "Bye Bye" to Whitby...
